Dr. Gerard Lyons is one of the UK's leading economists. He currently serves as Board Member of the Bank of China (UK) and as a shareholder and Chief Economic Strategist at Netwealth. He is on the Advisory Boards of the Grantham Institute (one of the world’s leading environmental groups), London School of Economics, Imperial College, Warwick Business School and OMFIF, a global policymakers’ forum.

Dr. Lyons has served as Chief Economist at Standard Chartered Bank before taking on the role of Chief Economic Advisor to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, when he was Mayor of London.

Dr. Lyons has testified to committees of the US Senate and Congress and to Committees in both Houses of the UK Parliament and has delivered an address to China’s politburo at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. He has given similar speeches at the International Monetary Fund. His paper on 'Banking the Unbanked' was presented to the Commonwealth Finance Ministers Conference.
